Funeral Arrangements
Funeral arrangements cover all the details of a funeral, whether you require a burial or cremation. This includes coffin choices, transport, flowers, memorials, headstones and details of the service.
Transport
We provide a hearse for the dignified final journey of your loved one.
Some families choose to include a horse-drawn hearse, which we can organise as part of your funeral arrangements.
Coffins
A difficult part of arranging a funeral is choosing a casket. Rest assured that we never pressurise anyone towards any particular choice – it has to feel right for you. As a guide, the choice for many families is a traditional oak veneered coffin, and we are also able to supply solid oak and American style caskets.
Alternative coffins
More and more people are now choosing alternative options such as the hand-crafted willow coffin and other natural alternatives such as bamboo and banana leaf. We are able to advise you on these options.
Memorials
All memorials are individual and made to your specific requirements. Memorials can include headstones, stone tablets or plaques, and are available in a wide range of styles. We can work with you to choose the style and wording of this lasting memorial to your loved one.
Stone memorials are handcrafted to the best possible standard using only the finest quality stone. Other services available include the restoration, cleaning and additional inscriptions to existing memorials.
Flowers
Richard & Judy Mathews run their florist and garden centre from 7 Harwell Road in Sutton Courtenay and offer an excellent range of tributes at reasonable prices.
Alternatively if you have your own favourite florist, we can work with them. We will liaise directly with your florist to ensure all the tributes are delivered securely to us at the appropriate time.
Obituary
We can help write an appropriate obituary and deal with your choice of publication.
We are here to take some of the stress away from such a difficult time. We will arrange and manage every aspect of the funeral, as much as you need us.
Music
Music can give the funeral a very personal feel. Whether if be a choice of hymns, or the music to enter and exit the venue or church, we will deal with every aspect of your music selections, including the provision of an organist.
Catering
We can help to point you in the direction of caterers who will provide their services at a reception, whether at home or in a hired venue.
Alternatively there are many clubs, pubs, restaurants and hotels that are set up to hold these occasions and we will be able to provide you recommendations once we understand what is appropriate.
